Program Admission
In addition to the general requirements for admission to the William J. Doré, Sr. School of Graduate Studies, applicants for admission to the Environmental and Chemical Sciences, Integrative Biology Concentration, MS program must have: - A minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0;
- A Bachelor of Science degree in one of the sciences (or science education) and adequate preparation for a particular concentration as determined by the admissions committee and/or coordinator for the degree program;
- A recent CV or Resume (send directly to program coordinator, Dr. Justin Hoffman, at jhoffman@mcneese.edu);
- Two letters of professional recommendation from faculty members, professional colleagues, or work supervisors (send directly to program coordinator, Dr. Justin Hoffman, at jhoffman@mcneese.edu); and
- A 1-2 page essay detailing your professional goals, which should include your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree in biology as well as your long-term professional goals (send directly to program coordinator, Dr. Justin Hoffman, at jhoffman@mcneese.edu).
The Environmental and Chemical Sciences, Integrative Biology MS program may accept applicants not meeting the requirements above on a conditional basis according to the William J. Doré, Sr. School of Gradute Studies conditional admission requirements. Applicants who are conditionally accepted because they did not meet the minimum undergraduate GPA or GRE score must maintain a minimum graduate overall GPA of 3.0, earn no more than one course grade of C, and earn no course grade lower than a C. The conditional status will be removed according to the guidelines in the Admissions Standards for the Graduate School. Non-Thesis Option

Notes
- All courses applied toward the degree must be approved by the major professor and the coordinator of the program.
- Prior to graduation, candidates are required to satisfactorily pass a comprehensive written and/or oral examination.
- Students who have background deficiencies may be required to take leveling courses that will not apply toward the Master of Science degree.
General Notes
- At least one-half of the total number of credit hours required for a graduate degree, excluding credit for thesis, must be at the 600 level.
- Credits applied must be earned within 6 calendar years from the time the student first enrolled in the program.
- No grade below C and not more than 6 credit hours of C work can be applied toward the degree.
- Only transfer credits with a grade of B or better may be applied toward the degree.
